CHARACTERS![/font]
Character names must be representative of their homeland/heritage-- meaning, your feudal Japanese character cannot be named something like Selena or Matilda or Yussuf. And if your character is in Feudal Japan, chances are they're Japanese, as they used to be very, very closed off to foreigners. However, Chinese I will allow, and maybe even a Dutch sailor or two, if you're lucky. Modern day characters can be from anywhere and be called pretty much whatever you want, but there can't be too many of them well-jumping either. Also, there's a difference between 'nicknames' and 'titles'. A nickname is something like 'zuki' for 'tsuzuki' or 'sei' for 'seilu'-- usually a shortened, more affectionate version of the actual name. NOT 'destroyer of worlds', 'bringer of darkness', 'most f@3rd d3mon ever'. Those are titles-- and bad ones at that. Bad titles are also as bad as bad names... think before you pick. Who actually calls their kid 'Vein' or 'Discorida'?
I don't like character bans, but I will use them if I have too-- so let's try to keep the ratios even. We don't want 492843y92 girls, and five guys. Same goes for demons/humans. There would naturally be less hanyou than either, but we should aim for even-ish numbers for all three. However, not all human characters need to have powers, just as not all demons/hanyou have to be super powerful. Hanyou with demon-level powers will be rejected. They also do not have "demon forms" in the sense true demons do. Pure demons may take on the shape of the animal or something they represent, while hanyou will keep their current form, though different markings and the like may be visible
And now for the obligatory no mary sues/gary stus/horribly stereotyped characters. These include:
[li]The really sweet, smart girl who lost her parents in a terrible accident but was left with lots of money, and who all the boys, even the canons, fall in love with and all the girls want to be.
[/li][li]The really cool guy with the same history as above, only all the girls fall for him even though he's a total badass heartbreaker, even though he isn't in to relationships.
[/li][li]The villian who is evil for no apparent reason, and feels no emotion/remorse/anything.
[/li][li]Anybody who killed their parents/watched their parents die/was mysteriously orphaned/hates their parents for no reason
So I'd steer clear of any of those.
