Sonoko is a rather complex being. She has several layers that overlap and come off as different personalities fighting to take over. Not to say she's bi-polar or has a multiple-personality disorder, but very close to it. At first contact, Sonoko, better known as Squee, is a very complacent and friendly being. She's quiet and shy at first, but opens up quickly and soon reveals her crazy, random, and rather fun side. But she rarely opens up anymore, since she prefers a solitary lifestyle these days. Under most circumstances, you never really see a different side of her. Squee is always found with a smile on her lips, and a positive attitude towards others. She doesn't look down her nose at half-bloods, or humans, but rather considers them worthy friends.
However, there are times when her persona changes to a very different degree. Instead of her bright and bubbly personality you may get the sullen and cold shouldered Sonoko. She usually gets in those down moods when she's around her parents and family. Being the youngest of all her siblings, and by her parents standards the least successful, she is constantly belittled and prodded at. But her down in the blue moments only last for a short while, before she goes back to being her happier self. And then there are times when she goes into a full on rage. Without so much as a warning. It just happens that she'll become annoyed or pissed at something, and unable to hold back her feelings on the matter. She's not known for blowing up at strangers, but if she's in the worse sort of mood she may take out her anger on innocents.
Squee wears her emotions on her sleeves. Constantly. No matter the occasion you can always tell what she's thinking or feeling. Though through recent struggles Sonoko has taken to the solitary kind of life. She strays from populated areas, and usually sticks to mountain tops and caves to hide, and is rarely seen by anyone.

[/b]:
Like all youkai Squee has a large demon form that she rarely ever uses. She takes the form of a large, though rather small compared to most demons, black panther-like feline. With three long, sweeping tails, dark blue eyes, and matching blue-black fur. Her fur is rather long for a cat, mostly because she refuses to keep her own hair short, and since she doesn't use this form often, she sees no point in trying to keep her hair short.
Smaller Form:
Squee has a smaller form that she usually uses when traveling. She appears as nothing more then a small black kitten. When she's tired she'll move about in her human form, but when she's scouting, traveling, or feeling curious, she'll mozy around in her cat form to keep suspicion off her.
Enhanced Hearing:
Sonoko's one real gift in hearing, her ears are pointed, even in her human form, and allow her to hear father away and smaller sounds. Though, considering her real gift, her hearing doesn't really matter, but is a great asset none the less.
Eyesight:
Squee's real gift is her gift of sight. No she can't see into the future, or see into the past, but she literally sees the world in colors and waves. Basically, she see's sound waves, and each wave is a different color depending on the actual sound. Louder sounds are a dark black, while lighter sounds come out as a pale white, and everything in between the two are a vast array of colors.
Music, including instruments and singing are hues of blues and light purples. If the singer is exceptionally horrid, it's a bright, eye-blinding blue, while softer, smoother tones are deep hues of royal blue and silky purple. Walking gives off yellow tinted sound waves, while nature reacts with greens, golds and pinks. Muffled sounds have a brown tint to it, while whispers are a nearly translucent gray. Screams are soaked in reds and oranges, and the hues differ depending on whether the screamer is pissed, scared or just being annoying.
The mix of Sonoko's type of eyesight, and her enhanced hearing make her a perfect assassin in many ways. Though she's rather clumsy no matter what.
The only real downside to everything is that she can't turn it off. She will never see the world without waves and lines blocking certain aspects, and she can't turn down her hearing no matter how she tries. Loud noises can literally paralyze her if she's too close, or can't cover her ears in time. Just like certain sound waves can momentarily blind her if the sound is loud or horrid.
Weapons:
Squee fights with a set of katana's. Black sheaths from tip to hilt, with engravings of dragons swirling around them. The hilts are made of thread and gold, making them a bit heavy, but easier to handle if you're used to it. The blade themselves are thin, with straight, blunt tips, and always kept sharp. Besides her dual blades, she fights with teeth and claws, but only if she's stuck in a life or death situation.

Born the youngest of four, Sonoko was constantly overlooked in her childhood. Not that she minded in the least, she had no real connection with her parents or siblings, she was a solitary being, and preferred it that way. Her father had the title of 'Dreaded' which in her younger years actually meant something. He was a fierce warrior, with seemingly no weaknesses, he even allowed his own sister to be murdered, in order for others to trully understand. He's a bulking man, with muscles piled upon muscles, and a brain to match. He has more scars on his face and back, then an entire troop of war-worn men. In his fighting days he could take down a fleet of humans with a swipe of his sword, and a fleet of demons with barely anymore effort. He was the type to allow wounds to be inflicted upon him, so that he could get closer to his intended targets.
Her mother was a great healer, and became a vital asset to her father. Their relationship started on terms of convenience, he needed someone to heal his more intense wounds, and she needed someone powerful to intimidate her enemies. Though what enemies she had, Sonoko never knew about. Eventually her parents grew to love each other, and from their union came four children. Her brother first, Senji, and her father immediately began to train Senji in the ways of the warrior. Her older sisters, twins, were bulking figures of women. They were built for war, strong, agile and perfect in their fighting. Her parents were proud, they had birthed three children of warrior stature, a small army in their terms. And then came Sonoko. The runt of her family. She was small, fragile, and completely over looked when she was found to be useless as a true warrior.
Her childhood was a lonely one, always on the side-lines with her mother as she watched her father and siblings train day after day. Her mother belittled her in such ways that left Squee wondering why she had been allowed to live in the first place. But she was a perfect specimen to trade off to a stronger demon, a leader that would be able to make up for her weakness, and provide even more warriors to her father's side. As she grew she was constantly under the eyes of her mother and potential mates. She wasn't the prettiest thing, with fair skin and dark, mysterious eyes, but she wasn't ugly by any means. However, Sonoko didn't enjoy being shown off as some pumpkin in the yard, and the first chance she got, she fled from her home and took to hiding in the forest.
Oh, she knew that her family had gone looking for her, and she knew that it wasn't out of love, or worry, they needed her. Though apparently not as much as she thought, for they called off the search after only a few months. From then on, Squee has been on her own, toning her own skills, from memories of watching her family, and became an assassin to pass the time. She took on the alias of Squee, and never breathed her name, either first or last to anyone, and always takes to shadows when she's dealing with prospective clients. She couldn't risk facing her family again, after the shame her running off must have caused them.

THE RP SAMPLE »
The night's breeze was chilling. It whirled slowly and carefully through the trees, along the path, and over the roots and rocks that scattered along the ground. It barely rustled any leaves, hardly caused a single blade of loose grass to turn over. But it was cold enough to send shivers down any spine, cause rows of goosebumps to rise along the skin and make even the toughest demon to snuggle into their clothes. Yet it's silent travel and freezing effects were completely missed by the form lying before a large Sakura tree.
It was a full moon. It's glittery beams shining down through the tops of the trees and causing shadows to pop up in the most unsuspecting places. It caused the green leaves to sparkle, outlined in silver, like diamonds begging to be pluck from the dark branches holding them captive. The trunks of the trees were drowned in darkness, the branches above claiming all of the moon's light for themselves. The rocks, lying patiently at the trunk's feet, were lucky enough to grab some of the beams, and were painted dark purple and a few were freckled with gold and white specks.
A few critters crawled here and there, nothing bigger then a cricket, and the couple that darted about in the air bathed in the moon's light. They flitted from left to right, seeming to dance along with the night song that the crickets sang below. But these sounds fell on deaf ears. These sights fell on blind eyes, and those fleeting fireflies and bees were missed by the one figure in their vicinity.
Instead, the still form laying upon his back beneath a sloped blossomed tree, was paying more attention to the lightly swaying branches above him. The pink and white buds snugly tied to the tree branches above were glowing under the moon's shine. Those whom have blossomed were allowing their bright petals to sway lightly back and forth with the night breeze. Those still cuddling themselves and holding onto their youth were quite still and stubborn in allowing much more then the swishing branches deter them. But one unlucky flower, who was growing older as the night progressed, plucked itself unwillingly from it's branch and allowed the breeze to carry it away from those diamond laced leaves. It flung out into the night, disappearing from the moon's beams and floating slowly around the dancing bugs. After a few moments of flight, the small bud made it's decent towards the ground, landing, quite gracefully, upon the closed fist of the lonesome figure.
The man glanced up. One eye covered with a dark brown bandanna, his other chocolate brown eye staring at the flower in wonder. Since it's beginning flight, the figure below the tree had rolled over to his stomach, grabbed the bulking bag beside him and started to work. around him were several different palates, with different expressions of colors covering them. The once blank canvas was full of dark hues with spots of pink and white in all the right places. His hands were covered in green and pink paint, the grass around him splashed lightly with several different colors, all in all, it was quite a sight to see.
Rik grunted lightly at the Sakura bud upon his hand, as if it would quickly move from his skin by itself. After a moment he set his brush down, the rest of them scattered about the grass and roots of the tree. He wiggled his hand a bit, watching the bud twirl but never leave his hand, he chuckled lightly. "Stubborn are we?" Rik let a small smile grace his lips as he sat up, cupping the flower with his free hand and lifting it towards the tree, as if offering it back to it's home. Right then, the wind picked up and blew the flower from his finger tips, making it swirl in odd circles around the lonesome painter and bring him back in touch with reality.
At that moment the crickets song reached his perked ears. Rik turned his head to and fro, glancing around him as he tried to determine where the chirps were coming from directly. Night already?
The cold breeze flew past him, sending a chill down his spine and hugging him tightly before working it's way through the trees once more. Goosebumps rose upon the naked flesh of his chest and arms, and Rik wrapped his arms about himself as a shield. "How odd." He breathed aloud, glancing around him before returning back to his painting. "I don't remember falling asleep. I must have been very... preoccupied." He chuckled lightly, laying on his stomach and picking up his brush once more.
Dipping his brush in a light hue of blue, Rik set the brush onto a fresh piece of canvas and with a vertical motion stroked quickly up towards the tree and off the page, "Ame." From the blue paint that had once soaked into the white canvas before him, came a cascade of water lifting up and away from Rik and splashing against the tree, it's branches, leaves and blossoms. Perfect. The figure smiled, a dark grin that refelcted his panther heritage, and showed his pride of the work of art he had created.
With the newly added droplets of water, it seemed as though he had caught the tree just after a rain. Giving him more beauty to work with and add to the picture. Diving back into his painting he forgot the rest of the world again.
He didn't notice the disappearing fireflies and butterflies.
He didn't notice that the crickets had stopped chirping and jumping about.
Nor did he hear the cracking of a branch behind him as another figure approached him.
